Curator-Led Tour of the Exhibition Marilyn Monroe. I Feel I Know Her, but Sometimes My Arms Bend Backwards
Thursday, July 16 2026 | 5:30 PM [sold out]

Join us for the first guided tour of an exhibition conceived as a living dialogue between the newly rediscovered archive of photographs by Milton H. Greene from the 1950s and 1960s—featuring Marilyn Monroe as its central figure—and works by contemporary artists exploring new forms of image-making and identity shaped within the late-capitalist culture of the internet.

What lies behind the exhibition’s enigmatic title? What connects the commercial world of Hollywood, the dreamlike cinema of David Lynch, and today’s circulation of images?

During this special tour, the exhibition’s curatorial team—Natalia Barczyńska, Monika Łuszpak-Skiba, Katarzyna Młyńczak-Sachs, and Łukasz Rusznica—will discuss the origins of the project, the collaborative research behind it, and the pop-cultural motifs that intersect across different historical moments.

The tour also offers an opportunity to experience the exhibition through a unique plurality of voices, where individual perspectives overlap and inform one another. Participating artists—Martina Menegon, Eli Cortiñas, Erin Robinson, Gregor Różański, and Łukasz Stokłosa—will speak about the development of their works and share personal reflections on the dialogue initiated by the exhibition. Together, we will reconsider the archive through the lens of new media and contemporary systemic questions concerning the boundaries of intimacy and the tension between authenticity and performance.

The curatorial team will also discuss the specific challenges of working with the archive, the process of developing new photographic and spatial narratives, and the remarkable, often mysterious history of the collection.

The tour will be conducted in Polish, with selected sections interpreted from English.
