We invite you to a discussion centered around the publication You Don’t See Me. On Care Work and the Making of New Communities in Art and Design, edited by Ania Witkowska. The book examines invisible care work within the fields of art and design, and explores how care, exhaustion, and relationships shape creative and collective practices.

During the meeting, we will talk about experiences of parenthood and caregiving, overload and lack of visibility, as well as about building communities, mutual support, and alternative models of working in culture. The point of departure will be the text The Hand That Rocks the Cradle Holds the Brush by Mothers–Creators, a powerful voice on combining artistic practice with care work.

The meeting is addressed to artists, designers, caregivers, and all those who experience tensions between work, life, and the need to be seen.
