Ania Witkowska – loop
Curatorial concept: Magdalena Kreis
Visual identity: Paweł Mildner
Toasts, pipes, prints, and strings! This is a perfect preview of the next edition of Primo!—the gallery of a single artwork and a creative, family-friendly space. As part of the sixth exhibition in Primo!, we present loop, a work by Ania Witkowska. Like the previous works shown in Primo!, loop comes from the Krupa Art Foundation Collection.
Ania Witkowska’s work invites us to observe everyday life—ordinary matters such as burnt breakfast toast or plumbing pipes hidden beneath the kitchen sink. Once again, Primo! demonstrates how banal objects and themes can become a source of artistic inspiration. When these ordinary things are shown in an extraordinary way, and in an extraordinary place—such as an art gallery—they allow us to better understand ourselves and our surroundings.
In addition to the presentation of a work from the collection, Primo!—as always—offers creative activities as well as accessible texts and questions that encourage visitors to develop their own interpretations.
From previous editions, we already know that Primo! works wonderfully as a space for visitors of all ages. You can find Primo! on the first floor of the Krupa Art Foundation (Rynek 27/28). What’s more, no admission ticket to the gallery is required to visit Primo!—you are warmly invited to explore the space free of charge.
