The joint project by Łukasz Zdęba and Andrzej Dudek-Dürer is a performative experiment focused on memory, time, and co-presence. The artists do not treat time as a chronological axis but rather as a material that can be shaped, condensed, and inscribed. The performance becomes a process of duration in which each layer of action—gestures, movements, and traces—creates a new space of memory, while the viewer becomes an active participant in a shared presence.
The project unfolds in the rhythms of nature, from the spring equinox to the autumn equinox, employing light, energy, and balance as integral elements of artistic practice. Within this space, two artistic poles meet, generating both a magnetic field and a multilayered context of meanings. The collaboration between Zdęba and Dudek-Dürer demonstrates that time, the body, and inscription can function simultaneously, forming a dynamic and organic process that is constantly evolving.
As part of the project, numerous material forms are created—multimedia installations, video art, photographs, graphics, and textual panels—which are not autonomous works but elements of a single whole. By incorporating earlier actions into the structure of the exhibition, the past becomes a living material coexisting with the present. “Portrait in Time” and “Living Sculpture” constitute an experience in which art is neither a document nor a spectacle, but a process in which ephemerality becomes the most enduring form of presence.
