Saturday, May 16 | 8:00 - 10:00 PM
On May 16, Krupa Art Foundation invites audiences to a special event accompanying its two current exhibitions: the international project All the Diamonds and It’s Time for Us by Artur Żmijewski and Paweł Althamer.
All the Diamonds, an exhibition developed in collaboration with Sandwich Gallery, focuses on the countryside as a complex space of experience — situated between tradition and contemporaneity, community and exclusion, as well as nature and ecological crisis. Referring to the shared landscape of Poland and Romania, the project builds a narrative around memory, nostalgia, and imagination, while emphasizing the importance of relationships and local practices in contemporary art.
It’s Time for Us, meanwhile, is the result of the long-term collaboration between Żmijewski and Althamer, in which individual authorship gives way to a collective process. The presented sculptures, drawings, and collages document the artists’ dynamic relationship — marked by tensions and negotiations. Expanding the format of “drawing conversations,” the project raises questions about identity as a process and about the boundaries between the individual and the collective.
The program will begin at 3:00 PM with an artist- and curator-led tour of All the Diamonds in English, featuring participating artists and curators. – ticketed event.
Then, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, a performative action by Żmijewski and Althamer will take place in front of the gallery entrance. The artists will draw on historical books, engaging in a visual dialogue in the form of “drawing conversations.”
From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, admission to both exhibitions will be free, allowing visitors to explore the exhibitions independently.
