We invite you to the fifth edition of Not a Date with Art — a unique gathering around a shared table, created in collaboration with the chleb popup collective.
The starting point for this event is the network of connections between Romanian and Polish rural cultures, shaped by shared social, geographical, and artistic ties. Through food and symbolism, we create a language of community and invite you to join us for a special tasting dinner, where guests will explore and compare flavors deeply rooted in the traditions of both cultures.
The dinner will revolve around fresh and lightly aged cheeses, traditional fermentation techniques, and regional vegetables and fruits. Ingredients such as farmer’s cheese, bryndza, parsley root, apple, sauerkraut, horseradish, and polenta will take center stage, culminating in a dessert inspired by the mountain peaks that connect Romania and Poland. These flavors have long been an integral part of the history and culture of both regions.
The villages surrounding the Carpathian mountain range, which links Poland and Romania, inspire us to explore combinations of flavors that, despite their differences, come together in a surprisingly harmonious whole. This dinner will offer an opportunity to discover local products, traditional food preparation techniques, and culinary stories deeply rooted on both sides of the Carpathians.
Allergens present in the menu: milk, gluten, celery, mustard, eggs.
Let this gathering become a space for exchanging experiences, building relationships, and creating new connections. Meeting in the Middle also supports the preservation of shared traditions and folk culture, which is why 20% of every ticket sold will be donated directly to the Folk University of Artistic Crafts.
As part of the ticket, participants will also join a guided tour of the exhibition All the Diamonds, offering deeper insight into the artistic and cultural contexts surrounding the event. The shared experience of the exhibition will precede the dinner, creating space for conversation and reflection.
The dinner will feature three original vegetarian courses inspired by the culinary traditions of Poland and Romania, accompanied by a carefully selected range of fermented beverages. The ticket includes both the guided exhibition tour and the full dining experience.
Let’s meet around a shared table.
