The KAF Collection is primarily a collection of young art. It has been created in parallel to the Art Partner programme and out of a desire to share art with the business community while supporting the work and development of artists and promoting their work in various non-artistic environments.
The KAF Collection, established by the Foundation, focuses on works by artists at the early stages of their careers. It brings together practices that impress through technique, form, or their intimate narratives; others may offer a layered portrait of the present: a society marked by tension, shifting moods, and the challenges that have defined the world since the 2020s. Conceived as a living archive, the collection centres on young, contemporary, and socially engaged art. Its core comprises works by artists from Central and Eastern Europe, with a particular emphasis on Poland, and is gradually expanding to include international practices. Selected works were first presented publicly in The Sharp Smell of Flowers – a polyphonic, oneiric exhibition reflecting sensibilities shaped by anxiety and uncertainty.
The collection also encompasses works shown within other Foundation projects, as well as pieces selected through the KAF Young Art Prize, including those not included in the main exhibition but recognised by the curatorial team for their artistic potential. Continuously evolving, the collection remains active through regular loans to public and private institutions.
Rather than accumulating works in storage, the Foundation prioritises circulation – expanding audiences, fostering familiarity with contemporary art, and embedding it in everyday life. The collection also supports the development of new art markets and accompanies artists at the outset of their professional paths. Particular value lies in observing how artists who entered the collection at an early stage gradually gain visibility and recognition within the Polish art scene.
The collection includes works by Karolina Balcer, Joanna Cisek, Bolesław Chromry, Bartłomiej Flis, Krzysztof Grzybacz, Veronika Hapchenko, Ant Łakomsk, Paweł Olszewski, Iza Opiełka, Alicja Pakosz, Katarzyna Wyszkowska, Bartosz Kowal, Julia Kowalska, as well as international artists such as Radek Brousil, Sara Bonache, Jose Bonell, Kateryna Lysovenko, and Krystyna Melnyk.
