We invite you to a meeting with Marcin Nowicki, accompanying the presentation of the project “Image Beyond the Eye: Reflections on the Development of the Image in the Era of Technology”, which is one of the initiatives under Future Fragments. The event is dedicated to contemporary transformations of the image in the age of artificial intelligence and digital technologies—exploring how algorithms and technological tools influence the way we perceive, create, and understand visuality. During the meeting, a film essay resulting from a one-year scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage will be presented, followed by a conversation with the author about the creative process and reflections on the development of the image beyond the human eye.
The event will also feature the premiere of the book Future Fragments, a publication addressing the relationship between intelligence, technology, and culture.
Future Fragments is an initiative that examines the impact of intelligence and technology on our future. Today, intelligence is no longer understood as a fixed trait of individuals but as a phenomenon emerging from relationships and developing through interactions between organisms, systems, and the environment. Similarly, technology is not positioned in opposition to nature but is seen as another layer of the global ecosystem in which we live.
Over time, as intelligence and technology evolve—both in human and non-human forms—our understanding of their role and impact is constantly changing. Future Fragments is a dynamic, decentralized platform that creates a space for the convergence of voices, ideas, and individuals from various fields, shaping the discourse on intelligence and technology. Lectures, discussions, workshops, presentations, and publications within the project are aimed at everyone interested in contemporary society and the emerging future—researchers, creators, practitioners, and anyone wishing to better understand what is happening at the intersection of technology and culture.
