Join us for a special curator-led tour of the exhibition FOCUS on the Collection, guided by Monika Łuszpak-Skiba, Natalia Barczyńska, and Sylwia Krupa, co-founder and board member of the Krupa Art Foundation.
At KAF, Sylwia Krupa aims to create a new, independent center dedicated to contemporary art. An important aspect of the Foundation’s mission is to share knowledge about art through educational programs, debates, and lectures on contemporary culture.
The tour will include insights into the making of the collection and personal stories about the relationships with the artworks. You will learn about the founders’ approach to art—not only as an aesthetic value but as a tool for reflection and dialogue about the world we live in.
In addition to stories about individual works and the collection itself, the tour will explore how the exhibition’s narrative was developed, focusing on contemporary ways of seeing. We will examine five thematic frames outlined by the curators:
-
Double Exposure / Podwójna ekspozycja – exploring self-perception and the effect of seeing through someone else’s eyes.
-
Frontline / Ogniskowa – presenting testimonies of oppression, conflict, and resistance.
-
Weaving / Siatka – tracing how the history of textile weaving intersects with the logic of binary code.
-
Interferences / Interferencje – where indistinct outlines suggest dystopian visions.
-
Close-up / Zbliżenie – exploring intimacy.
