KAF
24th of July, 7pm
Maja Michalak is setting off on a nationwide tour with a series of special events celebrating her new art album Poza Ramami! Join us on July 24th for a unique meeting with the author at Krupa Art Foundation in Wrocław.
During the event, you’ll hear an engaging conversation between Maja Michalak and Kasia Kaleta – about art, emotions, and the behind-the-scenes process of creating the album. There will also be time for your questions, personal conversations, and signed dedications in purchased copies. This is a rare opportunity to meet the author in person, hear about art with passion and ease – free from academic jargon – and discover that museums can be places of joy and inspiration, not just quiet contemplation.
ABOUT THE ALBUM “POZA RAMAMI”
This is not a catalog. Not a textbook. Not an encyclopedia. It’s a deeply personal and emotional journey through art.
Maja Michalak – art historian, educator, and workshop creator – has selected works that have moved her for years, those that give her goosebumps and stir awe beyond words.
Instead of listing and describing every piece, the album focuses on essential ideas and visual concepts that help readers better understand what they see in museums. You’ll learn:
– what linear perspective and the “ideal city” meant during the Renaissance,
– how dramatic chiaroscuro shaped the Baroque,
– what rebellion against form looks like in contemporary art.
Across 480 pages and five major periods – Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism & Romanticism, Modern Art, and Contemporary Art – the album serves as a starting point for reflection and discovery. A book meant to live with you: to be browsed, opened, discussed, and constantly inspiring.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Maja Michalak is an art historian, educator, and the founder of the Poza Ramami project. A graduate of the University of Warsaw, she’s been in love with art for over 15 years and sharing that love with others for nearly a decade. She collaborates with the largest museums in Poland and serves as an ambassador for the Friends of the National Museum in Warsaw.
Her storytelling style is light, humorous, and deeply insightful – showing that art doesn’t have to be complicated, intimidating, or reserved for the few.
