Relationships. Space. Shelter | works from the collection of Sylwia and Piotr Krupa as a commentary on the exhibitions “Body. Pain and Pleasure” and “Utopias of the Present”
So far, Krupa Art Foundation has held two major presentations of its collection, which is continuously expanding with the newest works of contemporary artists. In this way, the collection attentively observes the experiencing of the contemporary world with remarkable immediacy. The current edition takes the form of an “appendix,” while at the same time heralds the third, expanded exhibition of the collection, which will be presented in early 2026.
The presentation in the shelter space serves as a curatorial and collector’s appendix to the Foundation’s two main exhibitions, each exploring the themes of corporeality and fantasy from completely different perspectives. It was developed based on a subjective, emotional selection of works from the Founders’ collection, echoing the motifs present in the current exhibitions. This show also introduces and expands on the theme of relationships. It examines encounters between two individuals—both literal and metaphorical—and explores alternative ways of perceiving the body as a space of intimacy, resistance, and care. The selection of works symbolically refers to the bunker’s original function, creating a safe space for the themes, emotions, and phenomena that the Foundation’s team seeks to nurture and protect.
