“Primo!” is not just a permanent one-work gallery and creative family space at Krupa Art Foundation. It’s now also a book that explores the concept of collecting – what it truly means to collect, and what and how one can collect.
This story is inspired by artworks from the collection curated by Krupa Art Foundation. The book is, essentially, a workbook inviting readers to engage in various tasks and reflections. To guide these activities, we use pieces from the KAF collection, whose reproductions are included on a poster accompanying the publication.
The concept and content of the publication were developed by Magdalena Kreis, with design by Paweł Mildner. The book was printed for us by a small Wrocław-based studio, Effemera, using the risograph technique. What is risograph printing? Based on a digital file, the machine creates a stencil using heat. Ink is then pushed through this stencil onto the paper. Each color is printed separately, resulting in slight misalignments of layers and unique color blending. Every print is one of a kind!
We’ve created 400 collectible copies of this book for you. Each one is numbered, making it a truly special item. What’s more – the publication is available free of charge to visitors of the Krupa Art Foundation gallery.
The activity is part of the project “Primo! – Art Comes First”. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage through the Culture Promotion Fund – a state-designated fund.
