We invite families with children to the launch of a free, limited-edition publication about collecting, accompanying the opening of the 4th edition of Primo! This time, Magdalena Kreis and Paweł Mildner introduce Matchstick by Alicja Pruchniewicz. Together with Sylwia Krupa, founder of KAF, and Magdalena Kreis, curator of Primo!, we will reflect on whether a matchstick belongs in an art collection.

The Primo! project is inspired by the Sylwia and Piotr Krupa Collection, an art collection started in 2015. It includes contemporary Polish artworks as well as pieces by emerging artists. Each edition of Primo!, a one-work gallery, features a piece from this collection. This time, it’s Matchstick by Alicja Pruchniewicz – an object that is both ordinary and valuable at the same time!

The new, fourth edition of Primo! will also feature the premiere of a special publication on collecting, designed for KAF’s young audience. This book explores what it means to collect, as well as what and how one can collect. Inspired by works from the collection, it includes creative questions and engaging tasks. Visitors will also have the chance to receive a numbered, collectible edition of the publication.

Together with Sylwia Krupa, founder of KAF, and Magdalena Kreis, curator of Primo!, we will discuss whether a matchstick deserves a place in an art collection.
