31st October 2025 | 7pm
Join us for a chilling evening steeped in dark humour and animated horror. This special Halloween programme delves into our deepest fears — embodied here in wildly diverse short films featuring malevolent gnomes, haunted toys, stitched-together bodies, and mysterious ritual killings. This event is curated by Monika Łuszpak-Skiba,
Animation, with its freedom to create entirely fictional and stylised worlds, makes it possible not only to realise the most surreal, psychedelic visions — but also to build an atmosphere of dread and explore difficult, fear-inducing subjects through the lens of absurdity and the grotesque.
The selected films examine, among other things, the limits of creative invention when imagining truly terrifying scenarios (The Houses of Achille), the hypnotic clay-crafted aesthetics of macabre (Threads), a frantic attempt to escape one’s own murderous nature (Amok), childhood wishes for dolls to come alive fulfilled under brutal circumstances (The Pocket Princess), and occult ritual communities and secret circles of initiation (Madeline’s House and Bunnyhood).
