KAF at IMPACT 2025
exhibition: “Nothing to Be Afraid Of” | 14–15 May

Starting tomorrow, Krupa Art Foundation invites you to Poznań for Impact 2025! As part of the event, we proudly present the exhibition “Nothing to Be Afraid Of” – a thought-provoking and imaginative journey into a world that could be different: more empathetic, fairer, and more open. Join us among works of art that defy convention and open doors to new ways of thinking.

Can the world be different – free from suffering, injustice, and hierarchy? “Nothing to Be Afraid Of” is an artistic invitation to think beyond the obvious. When logic and rationality fail, imagination and intuition lead the way.

As you enter the exhibition, you step into a layered, dreamlike world where fairy tales, symbols, and magic serve as tools to interpret reality. Works by artists such as Aleksandra Waliszewska, Oleg&Kaśka, Nowacki, Woś, and Tanska explore the need for change, deconstruct harmful systems, and offer new, more caring models of existence.

The first room immerses visitors in fantasy, surrealism, and irrationality. Here, patriarchal structures are critiqued, the ghosts of female trauma emerge, and magical rituals and intuition guide us toward alternative realities.

In the second room, Sana Shahmuradova Tanska reveals how imagination and memory intertwine to reconstruct – or recreate – what has been lost. Her works reflect on the fragility of both the human condition and the illusion of order, where humanity is no longer at the center. Kateryna Lysovenko, on the other hand, turns to non-human beings—those excluded from anthropocentric narratives—and builds a mythology of sensitive humanoids existing outside imposed systems.

References to history and myth also play a central role. Paweł Baśnik reconstructs distorted mythological figures, while Veronika Hapchenko performs symbolic exorcisms on Soviet myths, drawing from early 20th-century Russian fascination with occultism and esotericism. Marta Niedbał reclaims weaving as a legitimate artistic medium with a soft, tactile wool sculpture that reimagines subjectivity as tender, coexistent, and empowered—an intergenerational response to the hard-edged anthropomorphic cabinet of Salvador Dalí.

A symbolic counterpoint to the exhibition is a painting by Wojciech Fangor, created during his emigration. Once misunderstood in his homeland, Fangor’s ideas on immersive, relational art are now celebrated in Poland. His story reminds us that the boldest artistic visions are often met with resistance—until they shape the canon of tomorrow.

The exhibition is made possible through the generosity of:
Krupa Art Foundation, Sylwia and Piotr Krupa, Tomasz Pasiek, Desa Unicum, and the participating artists:
Paweł Baśnik, Salvador Dalí, Pola Dwurnik, Wojciech Fangor, Veronika Hapchenko, Agata Kus-Dymna, Kateryna Lysovenko, Marta Niedbał, Maciej Nowacki, Oleg&Kaśka, Sana Shahmuradova Tanska, Aleksandra Waliszewska, Joanna Woś
