The Gestures. Traces project is an initiative by Wrocław-based artist Karina Marusińska that unfolded across various locations in the city. It all began in 2021 in the courtyard of Centrum na Przedmieściu, where local residents left their gestures and traces on clay cylinders thrown on site by artists involved in the project. Each cylinder emerged from this process as something entirely unique.

After the objects played their role as an art installation at Krupa Art Foundation, they are now being given a second life as plant pots. We return to the beginning and plant greenery in them together, as the trace transforms into something living and growing. The pots will then go to institutions that, like us, build and nurture relationships. It is a way of closing the circle: from gesture, through community, to a lasting presence in the city.
