Standard workshop topics for elementary school
standard programme

Workshops for all elementary school grades are held in the exhibition spaces of Krupa Art Foundation and are thematically linked to the exhibits or selected works. Students actively participate in the workshops surrounded by art under the guidance of gallery attendants.

Grades I–III

Forms of Painting

Core Curriculum

  • Art: V.1.1-2, V.2.1-7, V.3.1-3, I.1.1-2, II.5.4

What is a painting, and how is it created? In this workshop, we’ll explore what makes something a painting. Inspired by the featured works, we’ll create our own pieces using techniques such as collage (Małgorzata Mirga-Tas) and cutout (Kasia Kmita).

What Color Is Water? – On Hue, Light, and Shadow

Curriculum Basis:

  • Art: I.1, I.2, I.4, II.3, III.2

How is it that water appears blue? Do humans see the world the same way animals do? During the workshop, we will try to find answers to these and other questions. By observing colors in the paintings presented in the exhibition and experimenting with light, we will explore how colors influence our perception of the world and why we recognize them. In the practical part, we will play the role of scientists, conducting various experiments with color mixing and colored light, and we will create our own artworks inspired by the exhibition.

Grades IV–VI

Painting with Words

Core Curriculum

  • Polish Language: I.1.1, I.2.12, II.1.9, II.2.4, III.2.3, III.2.5
  • Art: I.1, I.2, II.2, III.4-5, III.7

Can text be a painting? We’ll explore the works of concrete poetry, particularly calligrams and investigate the relationship between form and content. Inspired by Stanisław Dróżdż’s practice, we’ll create our own calligrams in the practical part of the workshop.

Grades VII–VIII

Beyond the Frame

Core Curriculum

  • Art: I.1, I.2, I.4-5, II.1, II.6, III.2, III.5

What does it mean to “go beyond the frame” in art? We’ll explore creative works that broke conventions and set new trends. We’ll work on design thinking to come up with ideas for creatively using the frame as part of the artwork.

Stylish Instructions

Core Curriculum

  • Art: I.1-3, I.5-6, II.1, II.6, III.2, III.6

What does it mean to have a personal style and how can we recognize it? We’ll analyze the techniques, compositions, colors, and themes of various works on display. Using one chosen work, we’ll define the artist’s style and attempt to create another work in the same style.

The educational workshops were prepared by:

Forms of Image – Daria Miechurska
Painting with Words – Alicja Łaska
What Color Is Water? On Hue, Light, and Shadow – Alicja Łaska
Beyond the Frame – Igor Patryas
Stylish Instruction – Igor Patryas
